Gregory L. Colling

Eric Inman Daum, AIA

Eric's more than 25 years of experience in architecture on a range of commercial, institutional and residential projects is rooted in the love for historic American Architecture he developed while walking the hills of Providence, his boyhood home. This passion for history and traditional architecture has guided his career since.

He began his apprenticeship under John Blatteau in Philadelphia, the foremost practitioner of Classical Architecture in the United States and subsequently worked for nationally recognized offices in New York and Boston including Kohn Pedersen Fox, Bentley LaRosa Salasky, and Ferguson Murray and Shamamian in New York, where he met and first worked with his future partner, Greg Colling. Moving to Massachusetts in 1995, Eric first worked in the office of Graham Gund Architects in Cambridge and from 1998, at The Classic Group in Lexington where he served as Design Director and was later joined by Greg Colling to work on several estate projects in the Boston area. Eric joined Greg at Merrimack Design Associates in 2007, cementing their long professional collaboration with a new partnership.

Eric received his Bachelor's Degree from Columbia University in New York in History and Urban Studies and a Master of Architecture from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. He currently serves as President of the New England Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America, and teaches at the Boston Architectural College. He has been a speaker at Build Boston, and has lectured in New York at the Institute of Classical Architecture. He is also a member of the Shawsheen Renaissance Advisory Board, a joint public and private task force investigating the renewal of the Historic Shawsheen Village in Andover, Massachusetts, where he lives with his wife, son and four cats.

Eric Inman Daum is a Registered Architect in Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut.
